Storycraft Raises $3M Seed Round to Expand AI-Powered Social Game Development

Storycraft, a developer of AI-integrated social gaming platforms, has raised $3 million in seed funding in a round led by Khosla Ventures. This latest investment follows a $2 million pre-seed round previously led by London Venture Partners (LVP) and Signalfire.

The funding will be used to advance the launch of Storycraft’s multiplayer mobile game, which leverages generative AI tools to allow users to design interactive story-based game environments. Built on Google Cloud infrastructure, the platform integrates community features, user-generated content, and collaborative storytelling elements.

Storycraft combines:

Storycraft was co-founded by Andy Mauro, known for his previous work on AI technologies including Nuance’s Nina and the Automat chatbot, which was acquired in 2021.

The game enables players to construct digital worlds, create AI-assisted characters, and engage in collaborative storytelling. The platform supports a range of genres and promotes shared content creation. Users can explore other players’ environments, participate in story-driven gameplay, and interact with AI characters designed to respond dynamically to player input.

According to the company, since the launch of its open alpha, users have created thousands of unique game worlds and a substantial volume of AI-generated content, including characters and virtual objects.

The newly secured funding will support team growth, product enhancement, and preparations for a wider beta release scheduled for later this year.
