Loci utilizes computer vision models to analyze and tag 3D content automatically, making it easier to search, share, and categorize. Given the vast number of assets creators work with, this automation is anticipated to save significant time compared to manual tagging. Additionally, the technology will enhance IP protection efforts, an area of growing concern, particularly in platforms like Fortnite, where users have previously introduced elements from popular franchises such as Mario Kart and Shrek.

The AI tagging solution will be integrated across the Epic Games ecosystem, including Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fab, Epic’s digital asset marketplace. This implementation aims to improve searchability, organization, and overall accessibility of 3D content.

Loci’s similarity detection technology will also strengthen moderation tools by identifying potential IP infringements, enhancing compliance measures within Epic’s platforms.

Eugene Yi, CEO of Loci, emphasized the significance of this development, stating that “3D is the next frontier of AI-powered creativity, and we believe in making it more accessible, discoverable, and protected. Joining Epic Games allows us to integrate Loci’s 3D understanding technology where it matters most—supporting creators directly in the strongest 3D asset ecosystem in the world.”
