Funding Round Brings Total to $65.5M, Backed by Angel Investors

Peer Global Inc. has announced the completion of a $10.5M funding round, increasing its total funding to $65.5M. The round was funded exclusively by angel investors, with The Family Office of Tommy Mai as the sole contributor. Previous investors include LA-based Family Offices of Dr. Hannah Vu, Dr. Paul Duong, Dr. Quan Nguyen, Dr. Trina Nguyen, Khanh Van Nguyen, and Jan Nguyen.

Investment to Support AI Development and Hiring

The funding will be used to expand hiring and advance AI-driven product development. Alongside this, Peer is launching its “personal planets” feature, a 3D interactive environment designed to enhance exploration, creativity, and social interaction. The platform is powered by Peer’s proprietary game engine, which allows developers to build interconnected games within a shared ecosystem.

A Different Approach to Digital Interaction

Unlike traditional social media platforms that rely on linear feeds, Peer offers a persistent 3D world. It integrates elements of augmented reality and user-generated content, drawing comparisons to platforms like Pokémon GO and Roblox. The company’s founder, Tony Tran, started Peer after observing the effects of social media on user behavior, particularly among younger audiences.

Interactive, AI-Enhanced Social Spaces

In contrast to static social media timelines, Peer’s 3D environment provides an immersive experience. Users can place photos and updates within a virtual landscape that mirrors real-world locations. AI-driven features enhance the environment by simulating natural sounds and highlighting contextual details such as historical or geographical information.

AI-Powered Customization for Users and Brands

Peer’s platform allows users to create personalized digital spaces, including “personal planets” that replicate real-world coordinates. Content is mapped according to its actual location, enabling users to interact with posts in a spatially relevant context. The platform also offers tools for brands and influencers to build customized digital environments and integrate advertising within the 3D space.

Future Outlook on AI and Spatial Technology

According to investor Tommy Mai, advancements in AI are shifting digital experiences toward spatial environments. Peer aims to position itself at the forefront of this transition by offering a fully immersive digital world. The company envisions a future where online interactions move beyond scrolling-based platforms to interactive, AI-enhanced experiences.

With the latest funding and launch of personal planets, Peer continues to develop its AI-driven social and gaming platform, focusing on integrating digital and physical experiences in an interactive 3D space.
